   IS OIL EVIL!

Question 1. Is your personal consumption of oil part of the problem?

We would have to say yes. Are personal consumptions of oil is part of the problem. Almost everything that we do in are daily lives, oil has had an impact on it. With out oil, we probably wouldn’t know how to survive. We use oil so much in are lives, it’s harder to come up with things that we do not use oil for than things that we do use it for. We use oil for transportation. Without oil we would have a very hard time getting places. Oil provides us to go to school, the mall, and even getting food. Oil even helps us when it comes to the cloths that we wear and the places that we live in. Without oil, how would we get are cars to run or get are trains and buses to take us where we need to go. We have become so dependent on oil to do are jobs for us, we are too lazy to do things ourselves.

Question 2. What impact does oil have on our environment?

Oil has a very large impact on are environment. It can pollute are soil, crops, air, plants, even are water! Oil can pollute almost everything that is valuable to are environment. The most vital way that oil pollutes are environment, is air pollution. Air pollution usually occurs from human’s ways of transportation. Oil also pollutes air waters from toxic waste and oil spills. When toxic waste gets into are waters, it pollutes the fish and under water animals that live there. It pollutes the plants, the rivers and lakes, and sometimes even kills the people who drink it. Oil pollution is a serious problem in are environment. It not only endangers are environment, but it endanger all the species that live on earth.

Question 3.  Are there any viable energy alternatives?

Question 4.  Is there a connection between oil and violence in the Middle East?

Yes, there is defiantly a connection between oil and violence in the Middle East. Since the world has become so needy of oil, where ever oil is everyone once some of it. Like I talked about oil, humans use oil for about everything they do. It just so happens that in the Middle East, there is a lot of oil located there. That makes the Middle East land very valuable. Oil makes money, so wherever there is a lot of oil, people know that a lot of money can be made. Moreover, there is oil, which everyone needs to survive. Then there’s money, which every one wants. When two things as valuable as money and oil are put together and everyone once it, there is know way there will be peace. Oil is a major reason of violence in the Middle East.

This is a website that talks about wind power. The machines use blades to collect the wind's kinetic energy. I know what your thinking, what do we do when there is not any wind blowig? Well, there are small turbines connected to diesel and electric generators. Sometimes they even have a battery to store some of the extra energy when the wind is blowing hard. This is mostly used for electricty but it is still a posibility! Countries that have invested in these wind powered machines other than the United States, consist of Denmark, Japan, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Italy. Below is a picture of the windmills.

Nick:This is a very nice blog. You have written very good descriptions on how oil effects the enviornment. It is clearly evident that oil will someday become the bane of our existence! You had alot of good detail in your answer as well. It is easy to understand your viewpoints, due to your thourough explanations. It is evident that you spent a lot of time organizing this blog. However, I do beleive that you should have looked over it better to avoid minor spelling errors. Otherwise, the blog is very well-written. However, I cannot say that about question 3, considering it is absent from the blog! It is most likely an error with the computer. Nice job!
Prasanna:I totally agree with you. Especially I liked the first response, it was really good and it was quite humorous. Like you said that we would not able to survive without oil. That is hundred percent true, I hope there should be some source that make us “survive” without oil, because Oil is a non-renewable source, so it will be emptied by all the thirsty countries soon. I am sorry to tell this but it would have been great, if you had given some examples of violence in Middle East, cause by Oil. Just see your third answer, because some part of the response are missing, it might be some technological errors. Your blog looks really nice on whole. Good team work! (There were some spelling errors like “once” “are”)
    E. Davies:I really enjoyed reading your blog! The pictures throughout your page really caught my attention and made your page stand out. All of the writing content was pretty thorough with lots of specific details that really enhanced your writing. I thought the alternative energy question was really good because of all the statistics and examples of forms of alternative energy. However, I would like to question how wind-power could power cars? I am sure it is possible, but I can't visualise how it would work. Also I liked how you really elaborated on the "connection between oil and the Middle East" question. It was well thought out and really made me think. Overall, this blog was interesting, informative, and detailed. Good Job!
